Ryan Marino is an interdisciplinary artist working with film, sound, and more recently collage. His 16mm films explore the ethereal qualities of time, light, and space, and have screened at film festivals and venues including Anthology Film Archives, New York Film Festival, Pacific Film Archive, San Francisco International Film Festival, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, Venice Biennale, Spectacle Theater, The Nightingale, and UnionDocs. In addition to making films, he has co-curated film screenings at UnionDocs and Anthology Film Archives. His sound work explores the tactile properties of decay and entropy through the use of magnetic tape, found sounds, and field recordings. In 2010 he founded Imminent Frequencies, an imprint for experimental music that to date has released over 30 recordings by artists from around the world.
